And just for a Comparo, here is the ITGate TGS100 PSU
Would you like Fries with that?
That would be great. I would like to see the differences. Its quite possible the clones are using a completely different psu. Will pm you my email address.

My 7025 supply went a couple of months back - seems they're pretty dodgy. All fixed now thanks to Fernbay - if anyone has any grief with theirs i can highly recommend his repair work.

you need to take a side photo from the main board end to read the values of the caps, JD.

From those photos I can tell that the clone psu is not the same as the genuine power supplies I have had. Similar, but not the same. Probably from a different manufacturer I would say. However even looking at these images I bet a number of those caps located next to the heatsinks are stuffed even though they might appear good physically and the caps up near the hdd connector are probably all low values and rated only just high enough and prone to failure too.
The itgate psu looks very similar to the one used in the relook 400s as well.

If you unsolder the 7812 next to the HDD power connector and perhaps relocate it on the chassis heatsink then there would be no need for the fan.
A number of people have done that with success.
A clip on heatsink is also a good improvement.
cwispy, can you please give us an estimate cost to preform the Caps replacement on PSU?
Parts only or Labour and Parts?
Nothing firm or even in relation to you having to do it, just an idea for those wondering
Parts alone would be approx ~$20.00 or installed would around ~$50 to $60. Of course that would depend on who does it, as everyone has their own idea of what a job is worth in dollar values.

z80 and oceanboy keep on topic and stop the bickering. Have deleted the posts.
Thanks to cwispy, my DM7025 PSU is working like a charm.
Excellent service !
does anybody have a spare PSU for a 7025, mine doesn't work any more
Why not get it repaired? Us poor techs are getting less and less work to do!
I can't remember off the top of my head the model, I amsure it was a 7020, fine work, ran 24/7 for 4 years, directly under an air conditioner which was heating all winter. I noticed the picture becoming unstable, going light and dark intermittently, and then some light noise over the picture. The set would turn off intermittently and would forever produce a low amplitude, high frequency tone... After having it on my todo pile for 3 weeks, I changed all the caps - The tone is gone, however, the only picture I get is a green raster... I think the firmware went corrupt - Any one got any ideas how to fix this?
If possible, can someone send me instructions to set the DM7020 to share a card?
Cheers all!
