Default WIRELESS DREAMBOX Is it possible?

I would like to know how to make my dreambox wireless to connect to a home wireless router/modem.
Since the dreambox has only a ethernet port I have to run a 10 metre cable across floor to router(wife doesn't appreciate this!).
Someone suggested an Accesss Point but I get different opinions as to whether this will work and I dont want to buy one to try unless it is guaranteed to work

you'll need one of these mate

im personally using these for a few dreambox's, many more dreambox uses on austech are using them as well .

Set them to client mode, scan select network, enter network key and you'll get it conencted and you'll see pictures in a matter of minutes.

think that would happen either way with a power cut, even with a card in the box

    I have no problems with D-Link's DWL-G730AP on a clone DM500 or DM600PVR

    They're about $70each

Depends if you want to record or not.. I'm using a 1meg AP and its fine for CS. only cost $20 from ebay. Get this they are brand new.

Oh, no PS with these and don't expect to do anything else beside CS

You could think laterally and get something much more reliable such as A Netgear ethernet over power adapter.

Absolutely sensational connectivity around the home.

wifi AP's, bridges etc have all the drivers and firmware built into them. All they are looking for is a simple ethernet connection. So to make any DM box work on wifi all you do is plug your ethernet connection on the DM box into a wifi bridge, ap etc and bingo it works.

On several Gemini images [yes I did say Gemini instead of PLi for once] they have taken it a step further where you can connect your mobile device (phone or gsm modem etc) into the serial port of your DM500 and use this for your internet connection.
