    Default Wii D2Pro questions?

    Hey guys,
I chipped a Wii for a mate tonight, my first time, all seemed to go well, the console still plays retail games fine, but it doesn't want to play the copies he purchased in Thailand, starts to load the game, then locks up. I'm not sure if it's the discs, or if I have not connected up enough wires.

    Model No: rvl-001(aus)
    Serial No: lah10261****
    Chip: D2Pro 6wire with SPI

I followed the instructions found here:

I've installed the first six wires, should I install the last three or not?

Also, is there any software tricks required to enable region free?

    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

No tricks. Have you got a Pal backup to try in it? Out of region stuff is hit and miss. You can try changing the video mode to/from Pal/Pal 60 and see if that helps and also make sure you have the latest firmware from the EUR v1.7 Utility Disc on the D2Pro website. Other than that, its probably just ntsc games which are not really compatible.

You where right cwispy, The Wii just didn't like the discs from Thialand, tried a couple of PAL backups, and they are working great.

    Thanks again mate,
    Dave
