Don't know if it fits here or not... Mod please move if it does not.
Anyway it is time to pay my insurance for the year again and I decided to hunt around. I found BudgetDirect to be about 20% cheaper than my current one. I am going to ring up my current one and tell them how much I want to pay and see how I go.
Anyone found a good company ? 30+ drivers, all rating 1 so we have a lot of options... And no turbo on this car

there all shit!
just find the one thats cheapest and allows your choice of repairer, then there is almost nothing that sets them apart.
I just moved from AAMI to Allianz and saved heaps for the same cover and benifits plus they give a 10% discount for online application. RACV was a rip off price.
I ended up back at Suncorp with the XR8, I'm over 35, rating 1 on previous different insurer for 5 years, and the car has 2 too many cylinders for most L or P platers to drive; the quotes ended up being 1\3 of most other options as a result.
Just replace the Victoria bit with Queensland =RACQ.
Road side assist is a separate option you can take up with RACV. P platers get a free year of roadside assist with RACV whether the car is insured or not with them, all you need to do is apply.
Well the old bomb Ford i have was with RACV with the option of road side assist but the cost was ridiculous compared to the market value of the car.
I hate AAMI but seeing as they were the cheapest and the car is worthless in my eyes i went with then. My son having just got his license applied for the free RACV road side assist to compliment the cover.
When calling round check the value they give you whether its agreed and how much its agreed to or if its market.
Also check the excess, its a hidden fee that's overlooked by many.
I was with AAMI for more than 20 years on a collection of cars with top level no claim bonus and clean history. I have a turbo car and RACV with a special discount wanted $1200.00. AAMI wanted around $800.00 last renewal. Allianz was around $540.00 for exactly the same level of cover.
I also processed a claim not at fault for a friend through them a few months back. They paid quickly and more than I had expected to get.
Car cost $1300.00 plus I fixed it up and RWC. Pay out was $2700.00 and the remaining rego refunded. I am not sure if that’s a common experience or not however.
Budget direct have both cars with them, but like the name they are a budget service, no frills. In anycase shop around because even between models some companies differ considerably.
