You can CS with a 4.1 spongebob or a sellers gamma with no issues. V5 I found drops out after about 10 minutes.

Could someone help me with identifying what versions or cards Aus* use.
I know there is the New Red ones with the logo (assuming these must be the new Ver 5 cards) and also the chuckie and spongebob cards.
I'm also assuming the much talked about "whitey" is a sellers card??
From what I understand you cannot CS with the new ver. 5 cards but still can with older cards?

serial number on Card... 4001 etc for 4.1, I think the v5 start at about 4015, someone will correct me if im wrong Im sure..
Easy way to is if you have a Chucky or Spongebob, you have a 4.1 and everything should be sweet with c/s, Any other Card from austar etc will be version 4.3 and beyond etc.... And i think most have c/s countermeasures in place.
so there is no countermeasures in operation on the older 4.1 cards?
I bit more info would be nice
From test that have been done.
V5 Cards when first come out for Austar and Select COULD be shared.
Then a change was made to select first, then austar and all CS Stopped fro those providers... so its a feature that can be on or off.
We the tests I've seen, if you send too many ECMs to the V5 cards, they simply shutdown for a set period (about 30secs from memory).
We CS and ECM Cache on and all on the same channel (CHID) no issue as the cache did all the work.
With CS and ECM Cache off and all on the same channel (CHID), 2 boxs would cause the card to shut down after about 10mins or so.
We more clients the card shut down within 30 seconds...
So YES, V5 cards can be shared if this feature is not enabled.
and NO they can not be shared if it is enabled.
If you have heard of the way a select/austar v5 card can be shared, please let us know how.
Thats what I thought aswell.. Thanks mate
4012 are Irdeto2 V5 cards.
All the cards will CS but it depends on what OS system you run them in. DM servers are not the only CS servers on the market.
So when Jonc correctly pointed out the DM500's could not CS the Irdeto2 V5.3 systems other cs servers never had a problem. Alos dont have the glitching or pixelation problems seen on many DM servers.
However thats more likely to be a case of the server not being setup correctly.
Ive tried them with a few PC base programs and have had a fair bit of experience in that area aswell, but still couldnt get a v5 to work properly withou the help of a splitter. Was just curious to how you were refering to ....
I have heard the new public Greywolf midnight has no issues with v5 either but havent had a v5 here to test, only have 4.1s
Thats all mate..
No splitters.... cards in CA slot or can also use special irdeto card reader to server com port .... but these are not linux DM servers
Receivers can read all version I2 cards and can handle changes in clock speeds... so the receiver handles the emm requests in irdeto CA.... no clients need ask server for emm request only permission to contact server.
If using Austar card out of footprint use card reader and emm request to maybe one receiver on austar only to AU the card. Or select no more than 5%of clients to ask EMM request.
Given enough bandwidth can run thousands of clients....
