Having no CD drive ask for a different way to backup your Hard drive
I have been able to boot the EeePC 1000H from a 128Mb SD card
Acronis True Image Home Home has an option to make a USB Flash drive
bootable
Worked fine on a 1Gb USB Flash drive from Dick Smith
But had to use the Lexar bootit utility free available from to make it bootable and flip the removable bit on a 520Mb Exel USB Flash drive
I had to do he same on a spare 128Mb SD card
The advantage of the SD card is that you can leave it in the cardslot and also write protect the SD card
The Asus 1000H came with 3x 40Gb partitions
You have the option to backup the whole drive or backup C: to D:
