    Microsoft's TCP/IP stack on their desktop versions is crippled, but that's not responsible for Greywolf's client limit - otherwise the limit would disappear when you run Greywolf on Win2K server or Win2003. The limit is in Greywolf, by design, and the reason is as z80 said - the author didn't want it being used for large scale piracy, just within home and maybe a relative or friend.
