Default Windows 2003 Small Business Server

Has anyone witnessed issues with this OS? My server keeps rebooting itself after encountering an unrecoverable error. The MS site explenation simply says to keep sending error reports so the MS can determinte the issue.

    what is the error number?

as it will most likely be found in a knowledge base reference.
    how often does it reboot?
do you have a virus checker?

    more details please, usually obvious.

I am assuming this system has been stable in the past but is now failing.
If so what has changed ? The problem could be hardware or software based.
I’ve seen things like McAfee version 8.0 when used on a file server exhaust resources
the fix for that is an update patch from McAfee.

Driver updates are another common cause, bad hard disk blocks or corruptions.
A program using all the available physical memory forcing the system to page
to disk. SQL & Exchange are both common examples of that and you can add
a few switches to the boot.ini to help with that.

This is a very long web link – If it does not work try going to Microsoft’s site
and search for TechNet Webcast: Windows Hang and Crash Dump Analysis
which will show you how to read the crash dump file.
