Hi all....well, I've finally bit the bullet and signed up with netspace broadband(sigh of relief) I' got the 30gig 1500 plan and am wondering do I have to set up the "broadband connection" using the connection wizard in windows in much the same way as a dial-up connection?
Now when I spoke to them during the week they said they would send an email to the nominated email address, but this morning I'm trying to login via dial up but can't, so I'm presuming they haven't activated the email account activated as yet and also I was hoping by chance telstra may have enabled the line for adsl but it doesn't appear it has happened as yet.
any suggestions on trying to see if the email account has activated apart from ringing them.

The fact that there's a highway to hell and a stairway to heaven says a lot about the anticipated traffic flow.
i am also with netspace but use my own modem not one that they supplied.
if you log into the modem all the connection details and steps to set the connection up will be very obvious.
you will also see if the line is active or not
Which modem did they supply you with ???

Hi guys
signed up earlier in the week, but the modem hasn't arrived from them yet!
I checked the netspace website and the modem I already have is supported netcomm nb5 so I tried setting that up, and have being searching the help files on the website for the modem config detals but no luck
so it looks like will have to wait until their modem & cd arrives, although at the least i would have thought they may have activated the email by now, but obviously I' going to have to wait a little while longer

the netcomm nb5 is a pretty easy one to setup
login and in the wan connection its just a matter of setting the user name and password.
the default login is 192.168.1.1 admin admin
then select quick settings
protocol pppoe
userid = user name as shown below
password = pasword
then just select apply
with netspace login it must be like
osci@netspace.net.au
simple as that eh!
will give that a go tomorrow and let you know, thanks heaps!!!

The adsl light on your modem must be on, this will not happen until your line is adsl enabled. Until then you are wasting your time.
What happens if I press alt + F4?
themodem turned up today and went to set it all up but appears line not yet changed enabled migth be a little while if telstra are having rolling stoppages.

got home this arvo and the phone line has been adsl enabled, I don't know why I stuck with dial-up for so long (sigh)
stuck the cd in the drive and took me easily through all the steps with setting up the connection. happy camper I am

Now get some good antivirus/firewall software, being that you will be going on a download frenzy.
I recommend Kaspersky Internet Security.
Licenses on ebay cheap.
Have fun.
