I have a current subscription with Selectv and I find the Foxtel box is useful for the epg so's I can know what movies are coming up for the next whole week.
Also you can watch the first 10 minutes of the Box Office Movies for free.

    Don't throw it away.
don't forget how useful those Pace analogue boxes became once the people what knew how to get them pic chips to work.
    You just never know.
Some clever people might just do similar with these digital boxes too.
Took many years last time so just put it aside.

unfortunately it is unlawful, it remains foxtel property.

I'd buy it off you if I could get my normal cable sub to work with it, but I don't know that it's possible without their software

Won't work unless activated from the cable company. Have one here which I have tried on my system and it didn't work. Someone may know something different though.

Yes, your're right. It needs to be programmed by cable co. I'm pretty sure that if I rang them and asked them to do this they might be obliging. Maybe not.

No, I don't believe you can. The box needs to be activated to use it.
