    Default LG Plasma board compatibility

We've got a 42PX3RVC sitting in the workshop here with a cracked plasma panel.

I have the option of purchasing a 42PZ91M which has, according to the customer, had a power surge and now has a "faulty video board assembly".

I'm wondering about the possibility of either using the video board out of the 42PX to repair the PZ, or, at a long shot, using the plasma panel from the PZ to get the PX running.

Any suggestions? Are the boards interchangeable?

    Pretty certain you cant mate.
    The px3 is a version 7 panel.
You can use a ver7 with its Y,Z control and drivers in a px10 which is a version 6.
The PX3 panels are pretty bloody good reliability wise once you fit the ysus kit.
Hunt around for LG px 2, 3, or 4.
Also Teac and Palsonic and Conia use the panel u need.
    Not sure of models though.
    Cheers

    Thanks for that Oscar..

Do you think the suggested prognosis of the 42PZ is correct, and would it be worthwhile purchasing this set if in fact all it needs is a video board assembly?
Apparently it was looked at by another service company and that was their finding.

studio1, NEVER rely on someone elses diagnosis, ask to check the unit BEFORE paying for it, the PZ uses a 6348Q-E034A panel, oscars dead right, wont fit a 3RVC.

i'd say get the pz and post what you find between us and oscar we'll nut it out.

Yes, quite sure - in full it's an MT-42PZ91M.

Bear in mind I am in New Zealand - so the models we get here may be slightly different to Aussie.

Thanks man, I'll see how the price goes on the PZ and take it from there.

Yeah. I am toying with not buying it at all. I've read some of the write-ups on the LG plasma sets and they aren't that good.
Looks like we are stuck in a technological no-man's land.

Plasma is not a proved technology, CRT is old-hat and obsolete...

Yeah, I noticed after buying my Plasma, I got a electric heater as well.
Man these things throw off a lot of heat!

Yes, I am just putting a few pennies away for the day when I buy myself a really grunty projector.. it seems that plasma is just a gimmick, and they break far too easily!
