Can anyone tell me what type of card the cable sub card where, and if they are good for anything other than drink coasters?

No I dissagree. Great for applying bog on that small dent repair, Cutting cocain saves damaging the magnetic stripe on your credit card, breaking into homes, cake decorating etc the uses are endless

I agree, I did just that with a titanium card and it worked great.
