Going to look at a Toppy DVB-S2 spec (HD) PVR I think. Whilst ND$ atm, one could I guess attempt use of Predator in a particular cam.

Sometimes standard DVB-S spec boxes will scan in HD channels, but it will show as 'not supported' when you go to it, or will glitch and burp etc.

The DVB-S spec Toppy 5000 will not load in C bands HD Luxe TV, Voom etc whatsoever, tuner bearing DVB-S2 (H.264) needed.

I don't think their transmitting pictures yet. My DVB-S1 card with My Theatre
Shows program info as "New Foxtel Service Special Interest Coming Soon
a full program listing soon and We'll keep you up to date of start date."

Yeah, NDS is enabled and Video PID says it's 0000 and audio is detected
    as AC-3

Also Strong DVB-S1 thinks the HD channels are Radio channels confirming no video I guess.
    I don't expect to see pictures with a DVB-S1

Save your money. It's NDS only.

Certainly running HD now but it's NDS only. Given the current situation its more likely to remain NDS even if Austar will offer HD.

    Default Foxtel HD

One thing i question about foxtel's half ass attempt at HD, do they think people will part with their hard earned money for just 4 HD channels of more repeats, those 4 HD channels could have been better utilized for 16 normal def channels, fix their pathetic Sky News Active and finally give full screens rather than a tiny screen in the corner for each Sky News 'channel'. Why would any pay tv company launch its HD service with just 4 channels?, wouldnt B3 have been usable for a year until D3 was available? if not, wouldnt it have been a better commercial venture to bring in another satellite from elsewhere and use that to launch a decent HD service?, such as what happened when B1 failed!
Who in their right mind is going to pay hundreds for this HD decoder, in the UK its A$680, and then an additional monthly subscription??
Foxtel, you should have improved the poor service you currently provided and arrested the disconnections issue before venturing into HD!
There are plenty of channels available in the region, of which you hold rights to programming, ie. HBO, Cinemax, The Travel Channel, etc etc...
Time to pull your finger out Foxtel!

The fact remains, where are they going to get the bandwidth from to run the thing. Or do they intend to compress everything else even more.

'squeeze up guy's HD just got on the Bus"

As for there HD service, there's HD and theres fox's version of HD

As for availability, content and priceing, time will tell, but why all the
secrecy, or are they building up to it S L O W L Y in case of delayed shock.
