    Default Broadband modem help

    Good evening all,

Some time back I swapped from Westnet to TPG, and churned with my old modem. It was not on tpg's preferred list, but they got me up and going.

What happens now, is that when the modem is connected, and I stop surfing and leave it unattended for 10 or so minutes, it ends up saying unconnected, and do I want to go back online or not. No big deal, I just say yes, and it immediately is connected again. I did ring tpg, but now they don't want to assist anymore.

I have looked at my modem set up ( it is an IConnectAccess624 by opennw), and when in the mode modem/setup/PPPoE connection setup, the setting "keep Alive" is set to 10 mins. Is this where my problem is do you think? Should I change that, or am I way off target?

    Any clues most welcome...thank you.
