As suggested already, buy an 8 port switch. Move all of your devices to the switch for simplicity.

I currently use a 4 port router, which in turn feeds a 4 port switch, thus enabling network connections to various computers and VOIP devices.

The arrangement has worked well for years.

I live in a one bedroom apartment and have one router, two switches and a power over lan connection, all works well with no issues. Buy a decent brand switch, if you dont like flashing LED lights buy one that has lights at the back. I would buy an 4-8 port switch as you will lose one port on each for the connecting cable from your modem to your switch.

The switch is as easy as just plugging it in and connecting the ethernet and power cables.
