I've found the answer - Homebrew Browser or rename the .elf and .dol files to boot.dol or .elf.
I have the Homebrew Channel and the downloaded the 'Apps Package' (at the bottom of the download page at ), all works sweet. Now when I go into apps and look at the programs that the Apps Package contains they all have some similarities in that they have the following in the folders - 'boot.elf' (or 'boot.dol'), 'icon.png' and 'meta.xml'.
What if a program only has a .dol or .elf file and nothing more - how do you load these ones?
BTW - anyone got any good links on some reading so that I can get more familiar with this stuff?

if you've got the homebrew channel up and running i suggest you get wad manager.. it allows you to load up virtual console games from wad files.. it's fantastic..

whilst the wad manager is great, the only nuisance with the Wii's internal memory is that you can only 'install a dozen or so wad files (games) as channels. To my knowledge you cannot run games from the sd card.
Has anyone come up with an alternative to install heaps of wads?
i think i remember reading something about someone playing wads directly off usb mass storage.. something about it being '1 step closer to being able to play wii games off hdd' or something along those lines.. can't for the life of me remember where i read it though..
