Default Cost of Registration/Insurance for Diesel 4wd?

    Hi Guys,

Looking at upgrading the sedan to a 4wd.

Can anyone enlighten me as to the costs of insurance/registration (whereabouts figure) for a 4cyl turbo diesel roughly around the 2005/2006?

Have my eye on a few models, Nissan Pathfinder, Patrol etc...

    Cheers

Maybe call your Road traffic authority (RTA) and insurance companys for more details.

    Some insurance talk here.

A few names you may want to call for a quote.

It will depend on your current insurance rating, no-claim bonuses, cost of the vehicle and where it's garaged, other current policies with the same company etc etc

I had an accident back in July, 900 km from home and AAMI towed my car back home so it could be repaired by a local repairer, paid for all my accomm and airfare home as well.

Just insured a new turbo diesel toyota hilux with them... $440.00

Leroy, do you care to elaborate? With your name I can expect you have had issues with them?

Thanks MTV, I only ask as insuring a v8 at my age comes at a rather large price tag.. I wondered if it was the same with a vehicle that had a large gross weight?
Can I ask what you pay roughly for registration?
Once I agree on a particular model I can ring around for an insurance quote but right now I need to take a few out for test drives etc..

Rego & CTP was $460.00 but you'd need to check SA fees, in particular Adelaide, as they will be different to regional Vic.

I paid the same amount for my 6 cyl Falcon, so it doesn't appear the weight of the Hilux costs any extra.. at least not in regional Vic anyway.

At your age?... Over 25, age usually makes no difference with V8 insurance.... and yes... I'm over 25... well over...

I wouldn't care if AAMI was dearer than other insurers... after the service I received from them, I'd be happy paying a bit extra for that level of service.
