    Default WTB: AGP Graphics card

I am looking for a reasonably priced AGP card for my Mrs's computer, the old one packed it in. Such a techie crowd as this surely someone has an old card gathering dust.

I am not fussed if its ATI or Nvidia. Anything FX 5200 and above will be great, I can pick up in Syd area or spring for postage as needed. Please let me know.

    Thanks

I've got an ATI 9800 pro (reference design). Or a stock overclocked ATI x800.

Make me an offer. Both of these are several generations on from the fx line of Nvidia cards.

Thanks, but I'm gonna have to pass on those. All a bit old. My Mrs plays Morrowind and Civ 4, I'll have to duck for cover if I put one of those in and watched while she booted it up.

Sounds good man. I am not sure if the computer would even benefit from the better card though, maybe someone can put in 2 cents on the subject.

The computer is a AMD Athlon 2200+ with 1 gb of ram in it. Will I get much more out of the x800 or will the 9800 pro be good enough.

I am researching prices to tender an offer, this era of graphics cards is kinda black hole to me. I went from a geforce 2 MX to a FX5700LE ( the card that died ) straight to a 7900GS in a new computer and I've never had an ATI.

I don't want to low ball you but don't want to screw myself either... I'd like to chuck the whole computer in the bin and build a new one but alas finances won't allow it. If you got a ball park figure let me know.

    Heheheee....

These ones are the cheapest old AGPs....I did not know what you're after, so listed the ones that would suit a budget systems...

Anyway, good luck with the other cards....

What type of mother board do you have dude as that will depend on what type card you can use, as you can't put a 8x card into a 2x board ???
or just check your motherboard manual it should tell you in there what it can handle

    EE - Pm sent.

Tagg - It's x4 MB, so it should be fine with that card. Thanks for the heads up though.
