    Wind chill factor needs to be considered even more in the Southern states if playing with unenclosed pipes.

    I like the Vac tubes .I was looking at it but we have cheap gas so it wasnt worth the outlay .

    I had thought of heating my outdoor spa (only about 1400 litres) with a mini system

    it has a 2kw heating element and takes about 12 hours to heat up from cold (approx 18deg C)
    probably about $2-3 a day to run

    however i wasnt sure if it was really worth the effort as i couldnt find a cheap easy way to implement it.

    A Chinese beer drinker has made a solar water heater — using leftover beer bottles and hoses.

    Dont know how effective it is...
