    Default JTagging a UEC DSD660

Is this the same box as what foxtel used years ago? If so I'd like to have a go at JTagging so I can back up the firmware so these guys could then try load it from this thread
    Can this be done?
I opened up the box and there is a 10 pin inline header that is almost in the middle of the main PCB. Is this the JTagg header and is this the pinouts below? (from RDI)

I've never heard of anyone been able to change the firmware on these. We used to leave them unplugged overnight to miss the stupid upgrades. There are still some old boxes getting around that never received the upgrades.

In the old lost forum there was a lot of bluing and cursing because they kept getting up(down)graded. If there was a firmware upgrade via a jtag it certainly wasn't made very public.
Care to share a little on it now?

MM i don't think the forums will give you all the answers I would say the first step is to go look for data sheets on components.
now i have to go finish my whiskey.

ok I'll try again. What features does this give the box? I already read the readme and it told me bugger all.

If I remember it was to fix the problem with the box being locked to one set-up home. The Bin files allows multi set-ups again.

    Gidday there

Can anyone confirm me if the last firmware for the DSD660 has support for Letterbox mode ?.
I have a old DSD 660 over here in lil ol Nz, which is Ex Fox, The only option is pan n Scan or 4:3... Letterbox mode obviously wasnt an option back then.
BTW - The DSD i have runs Irdeto2 Aurora Card no probs..

    Cheers:

The old UECs are still going well in South Africa, many people use them, and the firmware update is to remove the id2 restriction Multichoice implemented, effectivly locking the decoder to the Pas7, and impossible to use under any "Unathorized" networks.

So maybe this firmware will remove that restriction,
