    Default found iphone

    Hi all,

A mate of mine found an 8gb iphone and seeing as though he already has one, he gave it to me. when i put my sim card in, it says that the phone has been disables.

I've heard that the iphone can be tracked via gprs. is there any way i can disable this so the phone cant be tracked down? also, how can i go about getting the phone to work with my sim seeing as though the phone has been disabled?

    Any help appreciated.

Do the right thing. Hand it in.
How would you like it if you lost your phone and someone decided to keep it instead of handing it in??

wonder if it had the "thief app" installed where by just switching it on give the monitor a GPS location of where it is...

not calling you a thief but there is apps that can be installed (and do not have to be run just installed) that do this. needs to be JB first which is easy to tell if it has been

I think once the IMEI number is disabled its next too useless (but I am no expert)

phone will be useless in aus. once it has been blacklisted by all the telco's some are faster than others in blacklisting but it will eventually be useless....

Sell it on ebay (overseas). The phone will work outside of aus.

    Cheers.

A finder who doesn't make reasonable enquiries to locate the owner (In this case, reasonable, would include handing in to the Police) is guilty of theft. It's called theft by finding.

Thats an interesting bit of software. A mate of mine has it on his kids phone but from what i've heard, you have to manually turn the application on. Is this correct?
