    Default Internodes new adsl1 speed - anyone have it

    As I have no chance of ever getting adsl2 where I live, I have just changed from ADSLPlus (8000/384) to ADSL TwoPlus (20,000/1000) from internode. I live VERY close to the exchange, I can almost see it out my front window, so I am hoping that I get a big lift in speed.

    Anyone else have this sort of adsl 1 speeds, are they any good...I hope so....lol.

    See below for the adsl 1 plan that I have changed from and to the one I will be on soon.....

    With Home ADSL Plus, your peak download speed can be up to 8,000 kilobits per second (or 8 Megabits per second) and your peak upload speed can be up to 384 kilobits per second.

    With Home ADSL TwoPlus, your peak download speed can be up to 20,000 kilobits per second (or 20 Megabits per second) and your peak upload speed can be up to 1,000 kilobits per second (or 1 Mbps).

    dam they are expensive reselling the telstra adsl2

    check in your modem for the

    Line Attenuation

    and that will give you an idea on what speeds to expect

    Less than 1km should be 23-24Mbit
    1.0km = 13.81dB = 23Mbit
    1.5km = 20.7dB = 21Mbit
    2.0km = 27.6dB = 18Mbit
    2.5km = 34.5dB = 13Mbit
    3.0km = 41.4dB = 8Mbit
    3.5km = 48.3dB = 6Mbit
    4.0km = 56dB = 4Mbit
    4.5km = 62.1dB = 3Mbit
    5.0km = 69dB = 2Mbit

    Well, I got my upgrade last thursday and the speed was great, I get between 13000 to 14000kbps which I am wrapped with.

    IT LASTED FOR 2 HOURS and have only just get my phone and internet back, 8 days later. I couldnt even use the back up dial up account internode gives you as I had no phone either.

    To cut a long story short, I spent around 6 hours (not kidding, timed with my mobile) over the last 8 days waiting on hold while calling internode and Telstra, at least internode have a call back feature, but they took 4 hours to call back 3 nights ago.

    Telstra tech left a few hours ago, said they had a problem with hardware at the exchange, all good now, home phone line is going again (voip running) and getting the speeds listed above.

    ADSL TwoPlus is ADSL2+. Just instead of being on an Internode DSLAM, it's supplied via a Tel$tra DSLAM. I currently have ADSL TwoPlus and enjoy speeds upto 18mbps.

    Yeah. Blame Tel$tra for the ripoff wholesale rates
