Default "New" technician wants cable license

Hi All, I stumbled across this excellent forum trying to find out a bit about the cabling license.
I have been a Security Tech' in the UK since the late 80's; now mostly service large commercial CCTV & access systems.
Myself, my wife and 2 kids will arrive in Queensland early in March.
I understand that it would be beneficial to obtain the ACMA cabling license, so would appreciate any advice that anyone is able to give to an experienced Brit' technician - novice in Australia.

contact a local security company tell them your qualls..

some TAFE campuses offer the cert 2 in data comms and as a secruity tech you would only need your Rescricted cabling license (easy to get either at tafe or other training)

If you hold an equivalent qualification in the UK you may just need to do the test.

TAFE run courses and exams in all levels of comms/data cabling.
