From all the reading & searches I have done it appears to me that I cannot make an Aurora Fun card with a Jaycar MKIl Programmer,
Can anyone confirm, or deny this please,
or Confirm what programmers can be used to make an Aurora Fun card,
Cheers

Thanks Guys,
whats throwing me is that my Fun 4 Card has details of;
AT90S8515A & 24LC256,
not the usual Microchip PIC & IC Eeprom
I did find the Ghost Fun files on this forum
GhostFun Crds
GhostFun Extract Crds
GhostFun v1.0 eeprom.hex
GostFun v1.0.eep
GhostFun v1.0.hex
Cheers

These two replies by "sublib25" had me tossed, as I knew that I could do it.
If you read the packet it came from it clearly states that it can't do fun cards.I read and reread the instructions that came with my kit and could not find what he was saying. Then the penny dropped, he must have been talking about the original kit from 2003.Time to eloborate, the JAYCAR will NOT do a fun card from blank, But when the o/s is loaded to card(Elvis, Infinity or what ever) - YES you can edit details with the JAYCAR in phoenix mode.
Lave's multi edit comes to mind.
The currently available kit has been updated to accomplish programming blank cards, although still bearing the same model No.
This is born out by this extract from the 2007 article enclosed with the current kits.
It is hard for old fogies to keep up with the latest innovations...
So, although reluctant to admit it, 'twasn't my Occult Powers after all.But what happens if the PIC's program (Flash) memory is blank? With no card operating system, how do we access the EEPROM? The answer is, of course, that it can't be done with this type of card (or with the original reader/programmer design).
So how is the PIC programmed? Well, the connections between the PIC and the card contacts have been designed for dual purposes. As well as supporting "normal" operation, they also allow the PIC to be programmed in-circuit.
Unlike the previous design, then, this new design includes the ability to program the PIC on a blank card. Of course, you can also erase and reprogram the PIC on a used card too, if so desired.

Thanks beer4life
but do you think you can make a "Fun Card" for Aurora with the jaycar programmer,
It has details of AT90S8515A & 24LC256, (not the usual, PIC 16F84 & 24C16 type PIC & Eeprom)
& when you use your method (to Clone an existing Card, Goldie or Silver) you still have to select the correct device settings don't you,
The problem is programming the AT90S8515A with the GhostFun v1.0.hex file
Correct me if I'm wrong, I would love to be able to make a "Fun Card" on the Jaycar

G'Day,
Sorry I don't have a Fun Card to try. Can't you? You're saying it can't be done.
If you can't, tell me why in IC-Prog 1.06A, that 90S8515 and 24C64 are listed in the programmable chips.
Seems I do have Occult Powers after all.
Kindest Regards, " The Druid ". ....
PS: YES, I did find it eventually;
Note: this project will not work with any Atmel-based cards, such as the "Fun" card.

Because ICProg supports the following programmers;
JDM Programmer (Ludipipo) - (What the Jaycar is based on)
Conquest programmer
TAFE Programmer
TAIT 'Classic' Programmer
Parallel TAIT programmer
Fun-card Programmer
SCHAER Programmer
ProPic II Programmer
STK200 Programmer
AN589 Programmer
WILLEPRO Programmer
Fluffy2 Programmer
DL2TM Programmer
ER1400 Programmer
Different programmers can handle different devices, some do more than others, you cannot program a Funcard from scratch with a Jaycar/(Ludi) programmer
