Liteon Flash Gone Wrong

yeh i installed everything that was needed and flashed my first lite-on with JF. 2 i tried after that had problems with JF so i went back too flashing with dosflash on a bootable usb stick after reading the drives FW in JF and making the fw.

Installed Windows 7 ver 7057 32 bit on my system and can do all my flashing within windows without uninstalling any via drivers ,its been great

hey everyone, finally dragged myself away from COD4 to give you an update

thanks to iextreme 1.6 i thought i would revisit my bricked lite-on.

created the firmware in jungleflasher then used dosflash to write it. all seemed to go well, however drive back in x360 and still same error "Open Tray" with a disc in the drive. :/

the odd thing i have noticed is that in dosflash after flashing i cant get it to status x77 (the status it needs to be in for writing) without mucking around powering off a few times and a reboot.

this makes me think that for some reason the write isnt working or the drive is borked some how from the initial stuffing around.

im going to attempt to flash is with 1.61 and see if it can be used as a read only drive in windows for making backups , suspect it is beyond hope and i may strip out the laser for pointing at low aeroplanes

ah yes thats the one, i didnt have notes in front of me.

I have been looking around a bit more and there is a suggested *fix* which involves tweaking the laser pot (i guess its the pot, because the fix describes turning screws near the laser) so when i get a rig up and running again to flash the drive again ill try that, ive got nothing to loose anyway

Sorry to ambush your thread but I need some assistance. I flashed my Xbox from 1.5 to 1.51 months ago but stuffed it up. It flashed and the new firmware is on the Drive but my bloody DVDRom wont stay closed. As soon as I fire the 360 up it opens the tray and stays open. Anybody got any ideas or willing to make some cash to fix it (hopefully not to much). I still have my original files dumped to a USB key

Best to try & restore it back with the original dummy.bin & go from there.

you dont need to restore it back (the one) as you still have your orig f/w just create a new custum 1.6 f/w erase your drive and flash it again

mode B means you need two presses on eject to get the tray.

also if liteon drive make sure to get the 1.6 repack f/w if you get it from xbins you be fine just some of the newsgroups still have the dodgy f/w up and mislabeled

Looks like I stuffed it completely now. Might need a replacement drive

Pretty sure your old drive can be recovered,
List what you've tried and what happened and people can be of assistance.

Might just be easier to buy a replacement though, getting one preflashed (if you have your old drive details) would make life alot easier lol

Tried flashing it with both Jungle Flasher and Dos Flash. When I check it in jungle Flasher it says it has 1.51 firmware on it but the Drive Key info is all stuffed up not to mention the drive tray staying open (stuck in vednor mode?) I got my extracted keys which i did about 4 months ago and tried to put it back onto the drive but it shat itself. Now the bastard wont even power on
Luckily I still have all my Files so I could put them on a new drive but Id rather get someone else to do that and also upgrade it to 1.6

Its pretty sad that I work in IT for the last 11 years but i can even flash my XBOX360

Depends alot on the hardware you have as well and your setup. Nothing at all to do with working in IT

Id start from scratch,
Create a new directory, copy the latest iextreme 1.6 onto there.
Use jungle flasher to spoof the firmware with your drivekey.
Save
Erase
Flash

You might be getting mixed up and flashing a dud file.

Hi,the reason the liteon appears dead as there is no firmware on it, did you try this method,please read the instructions:
Now follow these instructions

Make a DOS bootable USB stick using iPrep

Download the latest ver of DosFlash_V1.7_Build_20081223 from Xbinz extract it somwhere and go into the Dosflash folder and copy the contents onto your bootable usb stick
also grab a copy of Lite-On-Erase from Xbinz and also copy the contents to your usb drive

Copy your created hacked.bin file into the root of your bootable USB stick

Now turn Off your drive

Boot your PC up your newly made DOS bootable USB stick
Wait for the C: or A: to appear
At the prompt type in L-O-eras.exe ( address of your sATA card )

For example L-O-eras.exe 9000

Before you press Enter turn On the drive

Press Enter, it should say FF80 or FFFF
Type in L-O-eras.exe ( sATA card address ) again and press Enter
Should now show FF72

Turn Off the connectivity kit and back On
( this is important or else it’ll say unknown chip type when trying to flash )

Now at the command prompt type dosflash and press Enter

Press N (if it asks) until it asks what number drive you are using
It will then give you options of Write or Erase etc....
Press W for write and it’ll ask for filename

If it says unknown chip type you didn’t power the drive Off/On

Type in the name hacked.bin or whatever you called your modded file
Press Enter and it’ll begin to erase then write the 4 banks
Once it shows a checksum the jobs a good one

Turn off the connectivity kit and reboot windows
Put Xbox back together and test

Did it in both DOSKEY 16 and DOSKEY32 Erased it, then it come up with Winbond chip id, then i hit write and load my 1.6 firmware (with my drive details) it writes to the drive and shows a checksum. Close DOSKEY 32 it sends and outro to Xbox. Drive Closes and then I shut her down. Turn the xbox back on and the bloody drive opens again and stays open.

If yourself or urban soulja want to flash it for me, I can send my drive with my extracted keys. Just give me a figure guys?

Is that the 360 I sold you early this yr you having problems with ,if you want me to look at it just handle the postage both ways
