Default DVD-R & PVR & Digital Tuner - which one for me?

    Hi all,
OK, so its time to update my old VCR.

I'm thinking of getting a combination DVD-R, PVR and Digital Tuner all-in-one device. It won't get a lot of use - playing the odd DVD, perhaps transferring my VHS collection (my own recordings) to DVD, and recording the occasional show from (digital) TV to HDD for later viewing. So I'd be looking at the lower (budget) end of town for such a device. I only have a SD but fairly good quality analogue-only TV anyway.

Are there any models (even second hand / superceded types) that represent good value for money at this end of the market for such devices?

I know panasonic had a DVD recorder with PVR and SD Tuner.

I was eyeing one off for my old man. There were 2 models, 160Gb hard drive and 250Gb hard drive. About $600+ around July 2008.

Grays online might have some obsolete stock???
