Telstra ADSL2 speeds

I get 7888 down 1008 up on adsl+2(telstra) very shit considering I'm about 4-5km from exchange. I think I was getting better on adsl1. And Telstra not much help with it either. I just churned to optus to save some cash even if I get the same speed in the end.

compared with results you guys get mine seem shit, but when i visit clients and use their internet they have utter crap speed in web browsing (telstra the fools use usually). I'm on ADSL 2 but only have my router set to ADSL1 as i get more drop outs if i set it to ADSL2.
Web browsing is very fast but downloading torrent etc is Bog Slow.

Any reason you have selected Taipei ? If you re do the test and select the nearest capital city and you should see an improvement.

I think speedtest has gone coocoo
I never was happy with the site anyway, It shows I have around 11-12 Mb/s download when my sync speed is around 21Mb/s. I can get in total (downloading few files from fast sites) around 2MByte/sec.

only an improve in the upload speeds.... i do know i am at the limits of distance for ADSL from my closest exchange, across the road from me residents belong to a sub-exchange. i know they have limited ADSL access.
