Tomtom Go 720 Keeps Switching Off

Hi,

I have a tomtom go 720 and it keeps switching itself off when in use.

It will have its moments.

I have tried it with the battery saver on and off with no luck.

Has anyone else experienced this problem ??

My tomtom 710 will not turn on sometimes.
I turn it off and it will not turn back on
I hit the reset button hidden in the tomtom where it docks and all is good again.

Thanks for the tip.

I found the solution for now.

I have to turn the tomtom on first then start up the car.

If I start the car up first then turn the tomtom on it comes up with
Do you want to connect to the computer

If you answer no it will switch off after 3 min

If you answer yes it works o.k.

Hope they come up with a fix for it.

Hi,

After swapping the unit 3 times.

Tomtom have fianlly admitted today that there is a fault with there go720.

Some units keep shutting down after 3 minutes.

The motherboard needs replacing.

I will send it away next week for repairs and let everyone know if the problem is fixed.

thats nice to know i sent my 910 in for repaire and they said could not get parts how about a nice shiny new 720 instead i have taken it hope i dont regret it

Third time lucky.

This unit is working O.k.

Not switching off at all.

Working like it should.

Hi,

Tomtom has now fixed up all there problems with the latest Tomtom home update.

Switching off issues are now fixed.

Also can connect to my phone now with the blue tooth function.

Now the unit is perfect.

Can Highly recommend this unit.
