Default Nintendo DS or PSP which one?

I want to buy a Nintendo DS but i like the PSP as well. Im confused as to which to buy but im swinging more in the favour of the DS. I would like someone to convince me which is worthy of getting. Which is a cheaper mod the DS or PSP? Which handheld can fit more games on a card the DS or PSP? Which handheld emulates the old consoles better the DS or PSP?
Are the homebrew apps for the DS good?

Alot of questions but im jus trying to decide!!
    Thanks

not sure about psp but with an r4/cycloneDS or other type card you can download many many games for the DS it beats paying for games that a quite literally shite.

PSP has way better graffix .. and better video/music player ... DS is alot easier to mod so plays downloaded games ... PSP has a flaw though not playable in cars ..meaning can't see the screen real good ... and DS is little bit better ... My son sold his PSP and then yr laters wanted DS ... holds few games on 2GB card about 30 - 40 games ..

Thanks woodstock, i like both, the games look really great for the PSP, but then i have screen shots of some games for the DS that look good too. I read somewhere that both handhelds is like comparing a PS2 to a N64. Im leaning towards the Ds because its $100 cheaper and i heard the mod for it is cheaper than the PSP is this correct?

you need to convert video to .DPG, theres a few convertors around that do the job, BatchDPG and SUPER spring to mind

and yes it does play mp3s using moonshell and a r4 or equivalent card
