How do I get back a lost/deleted recycle bin icon
I was clicking way doing stuff on the computer which was also busy doing other stuff, anyhow with a bit of screen lag and poorly functioning mouse I accidently deleted the recycle bin from the desktop, and it's not in the recycle bin either cause I had the default set to delete without using the recycle bin.
So, I tried making a shortcut, but the original menu options are different, what I want to do is get back the original icon.
I tried creating a new account to view the properties of the icon, but the default icon doesn't have properties like normal icons, so it doesn't show a path to the place on the OS where it's linked to or what DLL it might be in.
The OS is Vista Home Premium.

Right click a blank area of the Desktop -> Personalize -> Change desktop icons (left pane) -> Put a tic in Recycle Bin and click Apply. Or something like that. You may need to click on view and auto-arrange to find it on the desktop.
Your a god, TY
Something so simple yet hard to find.

HERE IS THE FIX FOR THIS PROBLEM: right click on desktop, got to
'personalize', then in the left column click 'change desktop icons'.
Afterwards, click on the 'recycle bin empty' icon and change it with the icon
that shows the recycle bin full…and do the same for the 'recycle bin full'
icon. Click apply. Now when the recycle bin is full it will show empty and
when empty it will show full. Go back and change them to the normal icons as
they should be and it will solve the problem
Restore 'Recycle Bin' in XP.
For those aficionados who stick with XP.
Make sure you have an empty area on Desktop./
Start/
Control Panel/
Display/
Customise Desktop/
Highlight ' Recycle Bin (empty) ' Icon/
Restore Default/
OK/
OK/
X exit./
Re-arrange Icon to where you would like it.
