    Default Australiasat: Working 7 day EPG for foxtel!

    Attached is the first beta of a full 7 day OpenTV EPG direct from the satellite for F0xtel. Note: It works on Enigma2 boxes ONLY. No longer are we limited to the now/next EPG or oztivo data is often inacurate, limited and patchy.

    What you need to do to make this work:

    * Download the current version 0.51 of E2_LOADEPG from

    * Get the "australiasat" files:

    * Follow all the instructions on that site () and install E2_LOADEPG. Do not forget to edit /usr/bin/enigma2.sh (see instructions) or it won't load.

    * Copy the attached "australiasat" files to the /media/cf/e2_loadepg/dl_modules (or media/hdd/e2_loadepg/dl_modules if you've installed it there) directory. DO NOT delete or move the bskybsat.bin or sky_uk.dict in that directory - australiasat is dependent on them.

    * Edit e2_loadepg/e2_loadepg.conf so that it reads:
    DOWNLOAD_MODULES=australiasat

    * Run e2_loadepg as per the instructions. Voila the FULL 7 day EPG!

    All up it should take about half an hour download and process the 7 day version and restart Enigma2. If you want it to run faster while you are tweaking it change the number of days to download to 2.

    Edit the australiasat-channellist.conf file to your own needs.

    Most chans should work for now.

    Improvements/ feedback welcome

    From Megaupload "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable."

    Some MegaUpload files are available, albeit slow, and others aren't.
    Rapidshare it maybe?

    Couldn't unzip it using tar xzvf so unzipped under windows and copied the whole lot over.

    It appears to be running atm creating the EPG, with errors tho
    Code:

    01-02-2009 11:36:08 Please check your Enigma2 receiver channel list and update your channel_list.conf

    Don't worry about the errors. I get the first few myself. The last one, A-pac just means that you haven't done a rescan in a while and found the exciting new channel on foxtel!

    Yeah, gathered that. Same with sbs wa.

    Now, what EPG do I tell the 7025 to use?
    I'm running LT5sp4 and was using the oztivo plugin.

    Ok. turn off oztivo in the menu (you won't be needing that no more!) and then just make sure you:

    * Follow all the instructions on that site () and install E2_LOADEPG. Do not forget to edit /usr/bin/enigma2.sh (see instructions) or it won't load.
    If you've done that then you should see the new epg data when enigma2 restarts.

    Done. It works !! 7 days of info. Don't like the LT default EPG tho, lol.
    Hmm, it's out by 2 hours (early). Will have to find out where that setting is.

    Great work, poiuytrewq

    hmmm... time is fine here.

    the time setting is in the australiasat.conf file:

    GMT_DELTA=11

    (11 = 11 hours ahead of GMT - Australia East Coast)
    Are you in WA by any chance? (set it to 9?)

    Oh, and if the time settings are wrong you may need to clear the cache before you run it again. Just delete all the files in the cache folder to be on the safe side if you are changing settings.

    Thanks. Done. Yeah, WA so 9 hours
    Running it again to update.
    Hmm, the 7025 changes to the EPG channel during operation, at times. crond to 6am, methinks.

    Yeah, that's my plan as well crond to the middle of the night. It has to go to the iEPG channel to get the data. It was the only channel i could it find it on.

    But that part is actually pretty quick - it only takes a couple of minutes. The transponder is like a firehose compared to the oztivo method. It's the crunching of 50,000 events and 50,000 descriptions into dreambox EPG formats that takes a while.

    Cool. All good now.
    Will have to configure the oztivo files for Aurora EPG.
    Would be nice to find a MCA EPG somewhere, hehe

    For the ABCs and SBSs you should be able to simply assign the fuxtel data to the aurora channels. won't help with WIN, IMP etc.
