Default Good old Elvis.. is it still useable

    Hey there...

I just dusted off my old Elvis programmer..
back from the good ol ghostaman goldies days..

have had sub for a few months, and would like to be able to have it in another room maybe ...

can anyone tell me if my elvis is still ok to use?
i would have to find a serial port, have lost the power cable so will have to plug in a 9volt...

or should i be looking at getting a new programmer?

    G'Day Cobber,
Methinks Funcards as well as Goldie, and perhaps even Gamma.

from memory the elvis is software controlled and will 'boot' in jdm/ludi mode.....

you will need to run the software on a pc to change it to phoenix mode..

    thanks for all the reply's...

does anyone know how i can plug in my elvis now that everything has gone to usb.
i went to dicksmiths today, and they dont have a serial port to usb converter.

not even sure if the elvis is still alive as i have nothing to plug it into or with.

should i just go to cash converters adn try to find an old dx466 to plug it in with?

The version number is written on the underside of the programmer.
These programmers are great! But they're rubbish for cardsharing, as they tend to occasionally drop out of their set mode, and they are only 3.57mhz

Remember that the power jack is -ve center - most home power-packs are +ve center.

If i were you, i would check your mobo manual and see if it has a pin header for a serial connection (add-on/port). If it didn't, you could just buy a PCI-serial card.

    Cheers, RHCP.

That's a good recommendation for the Elvis,

    Thanks for posting,

May I ask what program do you prefer, to write your details to to an Aurora Card ? (using your Elvis)

    Cheers
