I am do my own website, more for interest than anything else, it is definitely amateur quality. Frontpage is perfect for what I do
I want to use my personal domain as an add-on domain using my planethosting account.
I have redirected the DNS and supposedly setup the add-on domain in cpanel.
What I cant figure out, or find instructions for, is where and how to store the personal domain files within the main domain file structure
Any directions or links to instructionswould be appreciated

I think you might have answered my question. I will create a folder within the public folder and see how it goes.
That rather vital detail seems to be missing in the info I have been looking at
if your making a addon domain, 1st your hosting needs to support it.
then in cpanel, make the addon domain, give it user\pass\ then it should auto make that domain folder in your public_html folder.
Considering that frontpage extensions have been discontinued by MS years ago, your not going to find a lot of support for it out there
What would you do if your server was stolen or failed beyond repair?
