Default Help! Where to buy these boxes?

Hi people! I've tried googling but without much luck! Looking for someone in Melbourne who stocks either the Octagon Fs-918 or the Mediastar HDX 9100 stbs. I got the weekend off and so would love to play around with one of these babies..Does anyone know of a retailer in melbourne who has them?? Thanks in advanced!!

Called up Satplus and Melb Satellites this morning and they said I was better off getting just a decent HD terrestial tv box now cos the combo boxes like the mediastar and octagons are a bit fiddley and don't work as well in Australia. I've got Select tv and thought that the octagon/mediastar would meet my needs but now I'm a bit lost!
Am I better off keeping my Arion select tv box and getting a good HD box? I need it to be able to record and also play media files off my network. Any recommendations?

    G'Day Cobber,
I'm very surprised that no one has referred you to our sponsor. The above two agents do not stock and are being myopic. Have a look here:

The SF918 is not a combo box ie no Terrestrial tuner. I don't think you can go past this box for bang for buck. Firmware getting better all the time. I would of asked why it was felt they don't work well in Australia. What a crock... I would say the seller is saying this as he doesn't sell them and wants to sell his HD box!
Anyway Satronics and Kristal Electronics seem to be the 2 places that sell them here. I got a discount when I asked for a price from Kristal so that more than paid for the post.

Bzzzzzz. Have you looked up the specs? You will be disappointed then. I'm not one to put all eggs in one basket. I prefer separate boxes. Would be interested to know if the Mediastar supported simultaneous recording from both tuners?

You right Leroy, much prefer separate box for each signals, otherwise if you stuffed up that "ONE" box with everything on it--PVR,HD (Terrest.+Sat) then u are left nothing to watch or record on...LOL!

Ahh thanks for pointing out that the Octagon doesn't have a terrestial receiver! Looks like the Mediastar would do it all though..I'm pretty sure it said it had a terrestial HD receiver..
