    Default Removing window tint film

Any advice/tips on removing window tint film? It has no bubbles, but does have surface scratches, has been on for 2 years.

I used a spray bottle with detergent in it and it worked great compared to just scrapping it off dry
When you do things right, people won't be sure that you have done anything at all

Spot on, ive never had to try it but found this useful site.

Normally im putting it on. LOL

Note the last part about using a steamer on the rear window not to damage the demister strips.

I wonder if a heat gun could be used with a spray bottle? Might be an idea.

Edit; just found this method sounds even better.

A friend in the tinting game uses a mixture of turps and metho to remove the glue.

+1 for the garbage bag and window cleaner trick, works surprisingly well with no damage to the rear window demister. Heat gun/ Hair dryer can also be used.

I did my whole car in 45 min with a heat gun and a long blade, I just used thinners to remove the glue after wards, and my demisters still work perfect!

its not an easy job and if you ask me the best way is the fastest way

Just some thoughts on the matter.....

I was just reading through the thread and realized something.

Dont use the heat gun /turps, metho combo together.

Use the heat gun with window cleaner, or if you really want to use turps and metho, use the heat gun from the outside of the window.

Watch not to apply too much heat in one spot, dont know but it may shatter the glass.

Sorry guys but sometimes you need to remind people of the obvious, like fire and shattered glass.
