I will not look at it until the first service pack rolls out.
remember vista when it was new
How many people are using it ? I downloaded it when Microsoft put it up and for a beta it is pretty reasonable. Having said that , I havent really given it a hard time. The main problem I have had is with IE8. It constantly crashes so I have been using Firefox with very little issues.
I like the way you can pin programs to the taskbar , particuarly the way you can put the cursor over the browser icon and flick through pages easily.

I am really impressed by it so far.
Only issue is the sidebar seems dropped, but still things there..
Actually I'm backing up vista to try win7 now. Let you know how it goes.
I know the one you download gives you a 60 day trial (or something) but has it been fully hacked yet??? LOL

there are keys till august. I imagine there will be a release candidate by then.
Well to update...I like it. It's miles faster (on my vista laptop) and so far everything seems to work. Had a little trouble with wmp but all good now. Though for some reason I cant remove the watermark and send feedback. But overall I reckon it's a good fix to a really shitty os.
i went to download it but they have finished there give away

so far Windows 7 is what vista suppose to be.
any one noticed that it's not resources hungry like the monstrous Vista.
as Jaz808 asked, has any tried it with a touch screen or tablet PC.
Cheers.
yeah noticed it uses bugger al resources. It's supposed to work great with eeepc's too.
Also with that program Hoe posted you need to run it as administrator.
im running a dual boot with xp3 and win7
to be honest i still boot into xp mostly but win7 is a more refined OS now in beta than vista has ever been.
NS
Windows 7 is like a trimmed down, tuned up lite version of Vista.
Windows 7 has a few quirks, but so far working OK.
Thanks hoe, looking forward to having a play with those uploads.
Hey James
I installed it 3 nights ago on a new pc - had xp already on it and it came up with 2 options - upgrade or new, new asked to be from boot up and there was an option which partition - but no option to create on like ubuntu has
It installed beta 7000 - not sure if this is the latest
so I would say create a partition first
- my opinion - smells and tastes a little sweeter than vista - I had to install a driver for the nat, the vista driver worked a treat
