Done that several times, but selecttv might not work with a Humax IRCI-5400

ALSO THE CARD CONTACTS ARE TO THE REAR OF THE BOX
When the card is inserted correctly that's when it says error 16, the card has no rights to this service.

One other thing to point out if it means anything?

    With available networks it shows...

    S
    STV
    SELECT
    ERT

With channels like PGM, ANT1 Pacific, ERT World, RFS TV, Fashion TV, etc

Do you know anywhere that people with old Humax's can check to see if they are running the latest firmware available and download it if not?

I have Humax 5400, 5400Z, 5410Z and IR-ACE, the only one that won't work properly on Select is the IR-ACE, It runs for about 10 minutes the goes blank for 10 minutes.

The 54XX series boxes work perfectly.

    Hope this helps.

    G'Day again Cobber,
I've got to ask the obvious. Are you still having trouble with the Humax?
Are you using the correct cable for loading? You need a Null Modem Cable, not a straight through RS 323 Cable.

I realise that you said you used it before, but check it's connections.
We'll see if we can help from there.
Kindest Regards, " the Druid "..........

I'm not sure on the wiring of the cable as a friend did that for me ages ago, but it did work at the time.

My main concern is that I am using the right *.hdf file to patch the humax. If you go to that site that has them it is a little confusing for someone that doesn't do it all the time. The last time I did it was way back when the last official version was released.

    Regards,
    Glenn

    G'Day,
You're right, it is a little confusing. I do hope that I've selected the right ones. Contains both Boot Loader and Firmware. You may need to be more specific with your model identification.

I'm still worried whether you have the correct Null Modem Cable.
If you have a multi meter, is easy to check.
There are some cables that do not have the full 9 wires with crossovers as shown above. They may work, but often cause problems.

Thanks heaps for the file :-)

I do have a correct Null Modem Cable.

I just tried to update the humax and it came back with the following error..

    ERROR-Id

    No idea what that means?

Using HDFsmart 1.8 to program it on winxp

    Regards,
    Glenn

    Hi Glenn,
I'm not too sure whether you are using the right loader program.
I think we may need advice from a Humax Guru.

Kindest Regards, " The Druid ".
