Note: This information is intended for a network administrator. If you are not your network's administrator, notify the administrator that you received this information, which has been recorded in the file F:\WINDOWS\debug\dcdiag.txt.

The following error occurred when DNS was queried for the service location (SRV) resource record used to locate a domain controller for domain home.local.network:

The error was: "DNS name does not exist."
    (error code 0x0000232B RCODE_NAME_ERROR)

The query was for the SRV record for _ldap._tcp.dc._msdcs.home.local.network

Common causes of this error include the following:

    - The DNS SRV record is not registered in DNS.

    - One or more of the following zones do not include delegation to its child zone:

    home.local.network
    local.network
    network
    . (the root zone)

now guys i did change the servers ip to obtain automatically but this did stuff up any of the pcs on my network so anyone have any ideas noing me iv probably done somthing dum.

the server ip should be static and the dns server address should be the ip
of the server, server 2003 needs to be a dhcp and dns server for
your domain, if its trying to get this info from your router then this may
be your problem. you may want to use server 2003 SBS, this is easy to setup
    and maintain.

doesnt matter if the router is not giving the ip's, turn dhcp off in the router,
set the router ip to 192.168.0.1, set the server ip to 192.168.0.10,
configure dhcp in the server to start at 192.168.0.11
this is just an example, as long as the router and server ip's are of the
same class eg. 192.168.0.X or 10.0.0.X it will not matter, as said before, it
is important that domain users query the server for dns not the router.

    cheers
