    Default How to update NDS

    Hi all

I am wondering how in the heck you get an NDS card updated that's not in it's original box.

I have tried CCcam 2.0.4 but the EMM's just aren't updating and again last night i started losing some channels again. Put the card back in the original box and it updated again. Just getting sick of pulling the card in and out all the time.

I read on this forum that Evocamd and Newcs are the way to go but i downloaded it with PLI Helenite but it wouldn't work - played around with the configs but still didn't work.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

Re-image your box with this and all should be a go-go.

Can I ask before installing the image z80, what image is modded? Also did you have to mod much to get it to this excellent lvl?

Nah....thanks for the compliment but it's not really hard.
Just get it the way you want it then use the dreamup program to back it up.

Not hard, but some people reckon it saves them time.
Only catch is it is scanned for an 11300 lnb, so if yours is different you need to rescan the channels after install.

I always use Gemini , Cccam and Newcs.

For me I had a "few" units to do so saved heaps of time.

I finally got this going today
    I used
    -dreambox DM7000
    -pli iolite
    -NewCs 1.5
    -Evocamd 2.15

I have previously tried with CCcam and also using mgcamd client from Newcs
none of these would get the EMM's ticking over.
Installed evocamd today did simple config
    - next thing ya know EMM's are ticking over 15 to every single ECM.
I even tried a FBO movie and away it went too..
yihaaa now that stb goes in the cupboard

Z80 I have installed your image and trying to use the whitey in the com of the dreambox. I have edited the newcs.xml <node>/dev/sci2</node> with

    <node>COM1</node>
    <node>/dev/sci1</node>
    <node>/dev/sci0</node>

But no matter what my card reader green light will not flash.

Is there something else I have to set. Also will the whitey get updated this way?

LOL...in the expert menu settings you need to untick "disable serial port"

The image designers make it disabled by default.

whitey will still miss emk upates and stop working requiring "intervention".
that is cause of a bug in Newcs at the moment.

i don't know what you have editted but it is wrong.....btw
