I want to play dvd on my Computer using Windows Media Player.
It seems I need to download something from the Microsoft Website.
But My Operating System is not Original and Genuine so I can't get the program
I am using like a copied version of Windows XP Professional.
Can someone help me getting this program or whatever it is I need?

install kmplayer

Look for my dvd media player codec in the premium members lounge.
What happens if I press alt + F4?
I'm a tight arse.
I don't want to pay $20 so I can get the DVD codec thing.
Its available free to Genuine Windows People.
I tried installing all sorts of players.
VLC
GomPlayer
Quicktime
Some other stuff.
Since I done that , I now go to the TAB Race Results to listen to replays of Races, and they won't download or play.
Was working fine when I just had Media Player.
So I don't really wish to install any more players like the KLC thing.
Thanks for the advice anyway fandt66.
maybe your movie is a fake thats why you have gomplayer, try playing your movie with media player classic to see if that works , but as fats has pointed out just down load the codec pack he has suggested and see if that works.

My movies aren't fakes.
They are ones I copied from the TV.
I'll try the codec pack, but I really don't wish to download any more DVD Players.
We get the real story at last
Have you finalized the discs? What error messages are you getting? Are the copied TV programs able to be played on another (different) DVD player? i.e. not your computer? Does your computer play "real" DVD's?
It would help if you explain whats really going on instead of telling half the story.
I done the codec pack what you guys suggested and it works now
Only problem is it is jerky and pauses and stuff like that.
Obviously my video card is pretty much obselet or something.
Maybe this is where that $20 might come in useful.
Much of my Computer gear came from people throw it out on the street.
Told you I was a Tightarse
Thanks for the suggestion of the codec thing everyone.
The error messages before the new codec installation was something like ...Windows Media Player doesn't recognize them file types.
The File Types I have are VOB extensions.
And them file types aren't in the List.
The discs play fine in my LG DVD/VCR Combo.
But my wife has a SAMSUNG Unit , and she reckons it wouldn't play a disc I gave her.
Sorry aboyt only giving half the story.
I didn't want to write a book about my situation.I just wanted to get that Microsoft Program, and it looks like the codec thingo does the job...and now I need a real video card.
I have a nvidia GeForce4 mx4000
I think it has 128 Mbytes on it.
You think this is not good enough?
Or is it a CPU problem?
I am using a Pentium 550 Mhz.
