with this particular model, ensure whoever does it for you puts a decent laser fix to protect your laser as V12 are susceptible to premature laser burn out. The small diode fix that comes with some chips simply does not cut it!

A decent entry level chip is a Modbo 4.0 or something like that.

Good advice, I tend to like the sub zero by sumone, its passive, cheap and effective.

But the diode do bugger all and in fact are detrimental to the PS2 ability to read disks. All they do is slow down the focus coil burn out, but burn out they will.

that model can stuff up with the laser issues, so id take it to a pro to do it. iv done a few of these models and a few v9's and had no probelms but iv heard very bad things bout them.
theres a few people on austech which should be able to help you.
