if the 9.x is actually "9 times x" then yes otherwise no.
Sqrt is simply a value to the power of 0.5
If the 9.x is a decimal number (unlikely) then this would not be right.
on the radio today a maths homework question they had to answer was:
sqrt(9.x)
my answer after too much thinking is:
3.sqrt(x)
right??
