DM500-S & Aurora ?

Hey all,
I have been looking / reading / searching BUT

unless i missed a page or something cant find the answer to my query.

I have 3 x Dm's & whn I scan C1, I don't get any of the Aurora channels

not even the tuning channel.


anyone able to point me to the error of my ways ???


then i will tackle the autoroll etc

Check you have all the necessary transponders for Optus C1

I am using PLI framebuffer so yours may be arranged differently

Menu-Setup-Satellites & transponders-Transponder Edit-E 156.0 Optus C1

on the right hand side you should have 20 Transponders listed

from 12305/30000/H to 12728/24450 V

Do you have this, or something like this



P.S What image are you using ?

are all the channels your getting on the H beam? Is your LNB switching to Vertical? Just a suggestion because I have had 1/2 an LNB fail before.

I'm in Auckland.. have a DM500-S and autoscan works fine on PLi Jade.

most definately check your lnb fergs it has happened to me and for the life of me i couldnt work out what was wrong , the client thought his box was screwed also , but just a $10 lnb

Do a scan on a vert TP like 12407 V SR30000 fec 2/3 with NIT and that should get all the Aurora channels.

Yes, thats the same as what I have on the scan.. I can get Fox help Expo / Tvsn etc

PLI Jade.. started with 21 Trnsponders, after a scan it found 28. with 116 services found on C1

most definately check your lnb fergs it has happened to me and for the life of me i couldnt work out what was wrong , the client thought his box was screwed also , but just a $10 lnb

LNB should be fine as i swaped between the hummy & to setup the dream.. NO worries on the hummy. scan with Dream & none...

Maybe its a Voltage thing ??? what should the correct V be for the dreams ??

Yep... thats what i was about to suggest.
As you should get 388 channels on a C1 scan, or there abouts.

Check your LNB is the correct skew
Swap LNBs to see if yours is rooted.
No special set-up changes needed for a DM, just tell it what LNB you have and go.
Increase Voltage can be ticked... doesn't seem to matter tho.
Use another box like Strong or Hummax just to check you dish/lnb etc

I assume the multiswitch should not make any difference

My dream isnt that fussy at all.... can go anywhere between 6 and 9 o'clock and it'll pull in 12.407V no probs. If you have a cheap signal meter with the LED for V/H... plug it in line and see if the dream is changing polarity. Check at BOTH ends of the coax too... if there is a fault it is more likely to show up at the LNB end.. i.e., Voltage drop. If the LNB works ok with other receivers sounds more like a nightmare than a dream.

multiswitch....hmmmm no V getting to any box? Well I'd bypass the multiswitch to get one outlet in the house connected and see if you can get any V tp's. Try both outlets on your dual out lnb to make sure you can get both H and V tp's from them.

fergs, did the 3 dm's come from the same supplier with image set up? Couldn't be as simple as a satellites.xml problem, could it?

while we are on simple - what setting against Voltage under satelite set-up ?
Should be H/V - not 14v or 18V?
what about swap over two cables coming into multiswitch and rescan - see if you have a dodgy cable ? switches have set H and V port whereas LNB both work both ...
(clutching at straws here mate) - but worth a try

thanks for all the hints & tips guys..

It WAS in my face all the time.. simple as voltage settings

i was changing & then going to different page or what ever but wasnt / didnt save

all good now, just have to see the "easiest" way to delete all these channels & do a fresh scan again on C1.


FTP into the box is easiest I assume..

whats the easies program , or ust any FTP will do ??

or use the remote to delete
or use dreamedit

Many ways to do the same thing.

Or if you use the search button, you will find some nice bouquets here already made up for you.

Well done.. good fix.

Use the 'Blue' button menu and edit etc bouquets from there.

I use Dreambox Control Centre. Pretty much does all you need. FTP, Telnet, Scripts, Re-Images, Backups and more...... A much developed tool similar to DM's own Dreamup software which only re-images
