    Default Which movie is this?

It is a Chinese movie, near the end is a sword fight partly taking place in a narrow hallway or cave (concrete or the like walls) where the fighters brace themselves between the walls and move up off the ground. Sword blows arch and spark off the walls. The scene ends when some gun power stored in an alclove off the hallway blows up.

Can anyone remember which movie this is from?

    Thanks.

There is some debate on if it is or isn't a Seven Samurai rip off, maybe best to say that some scenes appear in Seven Swords that have the same composition as those in Seven Samurai. Overall I'd say that the director may have been influenced by Akira Kurosawa. The story is meant to have come from the Wuxia novel "Seven Swordsmen from Mountain Tian".

Anyway, it is long, 2 hrs 33 mins and there is meant to be about an hour cut from the first edit, so some find the story hard to follow and there are some plot elements that are not very logical. For me that is often the "normal state" for Chinese movies.

I haven't watched the movie for quite a while so I don't remember if I thought it was great or not... just that the sword fight near the end was great.... think I'll watch it again soon. I did give it an 8/10 on IMDb, it is currently 6.2/10, so lots didn't think much of it and it didn't win any awards in HK where it was nominated for 11.
