I want one....350 klms between recharging batteries....

    0-100kmh in 3.7 seconds......that is serious performance.

    ROFL....

". A favorite trick here at Tesla Motors is to invite a passenger along and ask him to turn on the radio. At the precise moment we ask, we accelerate. Our passenger simply can't sit forward enough to reach the dials."

    Sounds great....

Looks like it would have a big price tag.

    i like this bit

Electrical Cost to Charge the Batteries

With your electrical company's incentive pricing factored in, it will cost you roughly 1 cent per mile to drive the Tesla Roadster.

I can't see it being worth over $100000 US for this

The beautiful thing about electric cars is that if the car is 100hp then you have 100hp on tap instantly or as Tesla says "100% Torque, 100% of the Time"

Bring them on, especially nice looking ones like that one.

Bring it to my place z80, good excuse to take it down the Great Ocean Road.

Yep all the power is via a linear high torque figure.

The radio trick is ripped off from elsewhere.

I think it was a Carrol Shelby marketing trick back in the 60's.

If you could get the $20 note stuck on the windscreen, its was yours.

Specs look good in a straight line but i didnt see a gross weight....maybe not so good around a corner. (Hope its got massive brakes to handle the battery weight)

Still sooo cheap to run. LOL Till you need to change the batteries....

Maybe convert one of your 380's....a forklift motor...you know the rest Zed.

Just make sure its a red one.

    Actually godzilla....
if you have an electric motor on each wheel, and you can control the torque a thousand times a second....imagine the electronic handling possibilities you could employ?

(apply more torqu to the inside wheel, the outsisde wheel, the diagonal wheels...whatever required)

A huge range of performance possibilities for electric cars.

When coasting for example, simply switch off the field windings for three motors and just maintain speed with one.

No warm up of engine etc, and of course downhills can be regenerative braking.

    the batteries weigh 450kg....

A very exciting period on it's way me thinks.

    Hi,

I don't think it will be long before we start seeing electric cars.

yes...that's a nice bit of technology, but it's not red...

It does however have a network port so that you can connect it to your home PC to update things like the GPS or change the performance?

Probably, I have only seen the car in CAD data prior to those pics.

The babe or the guy are distractions and added weight, just give me the Porsche and some windy roads.

The killer is the recharge time. Mind if we pull up and have lunch for 14 hours while the car recharges. I would go the Porsche or a BMW.
