Vista Black Edition v2 and S3 mode

I am trying to setup my HTPC using Windows Vista Black Edition v2 32 bit (by Benjamin) provided by one of the kind members here.
Setup went without any problems, all drivers setup and hardware recognised. The only problem I have is there is no standby options available to me in the windows, only Shutdown. I have installed MCE Standby Tools and this gave me Hybernate option, no S3 at all?
I have to mention that BIOS is configured for S3 (STR) mode and I had previously installed Vista Home Basic and Win XP SP3, both systems had S3 available and working flawlessly.
Any ideas what can be done here, I am not very good with Vista (was trying to avoid it for as much as I could)?
Any Vista fixes or registry tweaks are available to have this sorted out?
Almost forget to mention, my PC is Acer Aspire x1200 (nVidia Chipset with AMD 4400+ CPU), 2GB of RAM.
I will appreciate any ideas.

I had Vista Home Basic working with 2GB RAM. Ae you saying the Ultimate pack needs more for STR than Home Basic?

Also chipset drivers are the same I had for Vista Home. As I mentioned earlier device Manager is happy.

Can you beg/borrow another 2Gig RAM and see what happens, and that will alleviate the RAM from the equation.

I sorted the problem out.
At the end it wasn't the RAM size, 2GB seems more than enough to keep system data during S3 mode.
The problem was with on-board nVidia video card and main video adaptor - ATI. There is no option to disable the on-board video in the BIOS, I only can select which adaptor to use: on-board or PCIe. Win XP and Vista Home Basic didn't have problems having both cards installed and only Vista Black once I installed latest drivers for ATI and nVidia produced a message which I didn't have before. The message was that Windows disabled one of the video adapters as it is not compatible with the main video card.
It's like ATI and nVida declared war.
Once Windows disabled the adapter I got back both S3 and S4 modes and they both operating as they should.
I am happy now.

Yes, works perfectly. I didn't even have to install MCE StandBy Tools or tweak registry.

If your question is about starting PC from fully shutdown mode, then it has nothing to do with the os version you are running. Your motherboard has to support the feature and USB devices have to be powered up all the time.
My PC doesn't have the feature, but my TV tuner has internal contacts which will close the motherboard Power pins. The problem I don't use the remote from my tuner card, only MCE remote is in use.
