    Default newcs setup issues

I'm trying to get a system going, set up like this:

NewCS 1.65 on Core2 Duo Vista machine ip:192.168.5.3
    CCcam 1.7.1 on DM500s ip:192.168.5.5

CCcam is trying to connect to NewCS but the server isn't working correctly as evidenced by repeated connection attempts from the DM, ending with the message.

Connection from dummy to not-ready server!
When NewCS starts up I can see it find the ATR, ACS version etc. of my card, so I'm presuming it's communicating with the card to some extent, but the messages after that, say the card/reader has failed.

Here is my newcs config file, any idea's?

    <?xml version="1.0"?>

    HI Daryl,

It will be your com port. Not all com chip work with CS.
Buy a sunix pci Com card and you will be good to go.

Hi gado, I know newcs is fussy about the com uart, I have read gw1's excellent recent post on the subject. But my serial port is straight off the mobo and I'm running a core2D chip and Vista. I thought that would be a fairly safe setup. I do have a pci serial card in my pc atm. I might give it a go. I'll have to use another card reader though. My trusty old Mastercrd2 is an internal reader with a pin header for the serial connection.

Tagg - yes to the best of my knowledge. I'll post the .cfg here if you think it would help.

Well, here is my CCcam.cfg, it looks a little minimal after all the comments are taken out. But I have no clients from this service, so I presumed I would only need to configure a basic server connection.

I took gado's advice and connected my cas3 to my serial card and it looks like newcs is running. Lots of traffic to and from the DM now.

The CCcam webinfo connections page has this:

    Server connections: 1
    +----------------------+------------+-------+--------+----------------+-------+-------------------------------+
    | Host | Connected | Type | Version| NodeID | Cards | CAID/Idents |
    +----------------------+------------+-------+--------+----------------+-------+-------------------------------+
    |192.168.5.3:15050 |XX XX:XX:XX|newcamd| | | 1 |local XXX:000000 60(0) |
    +----------------------+------------+-------+--------+----------------+-------+-------------------------------+
So I'm presuming CS is/could be, happening. No pics, but at least now I have something to work with.

Still - you have obviously got the cs working - well done

I had the same issues with the "not ready" bit and worked it out. The jaycar phoenix requires some changes and GW1 has explained the changes with great detail.

I can only assume once you changed your phoenix that it was all good - excluding the pickies of course.

But - if you have a jaycar mkii phoenix - check GW1's post on the mods - a real time saver!
