VLC from a PC with seasons ??

Hi all.

wasn't really sure where to put this, so feel free to move as required..

IS it possible to run CS via a seasons to a hummy, GWM on a PC & use something like VLC to stream to other pc's in the network

OR do I put some version of VLC onto something like a DM500-s & then stream from there ???

any help appreciated .. also IF VLC on a DM , what versions have people found best..

You can stream avi's to your DM500 so you can watch them on your TV. Is that what you want to do?

I have a pc with GWM running cs on hummy in the lounge.
Looking to see if there is a short cut to streaming everything to the projector out the front OR if its just easier to install another decoder..

Read about people streaming with VLC but never looked into it further as to what can or can't be streamed

EDIT : OR do i run it the other way..

Dream on projector with VLC back to the PC in the lounge ???

Just install another decoder I reckon and then more specifically a DM500 if you want to display streamed stuff on you projector.

I have a media PC there atm & also Xbox..

so multiple ways to stream as it is.. will just put a dream in the pile & add the the power plugs a bit more

great suggestion.. but due to the spares I have laying round atm, its easier for me to arrange a sat decoder into the area..

I purchased a DM500-s to go into this area , but wasnt sure if i really needed it.

If it wasnt needed , it would have just been a spare.

Google for "Dreambox MediaCenter v0.8.7". It's a plugin that will allow you to re-use your investment and achieve the one box solution outcome.

That Dreambox Media Centre is only for Enigma2, so not suitable for DM500 I think.
