I think you might be looking at it from the wrong angle. I dont think Telstra are running this country, or even trying to get in on the other ISPs. I think Telstra probably knows that they would be on AFACT's target list in the future if they win the iinet court case. THUS, Telstra will provide all the help they can to get iinet the win and thus the precedent in their favour, so that when AFACT come calling on Telstra they can just use the iinet court case to get it thrown out.
Personally I'm suprised more ISPs arent helping iinet fight their case.
