I just made an appointment for 2 quotes for insulation and was informed not only does the Federal government pay up to $1600, but the NSW government gives you $300 back.

    Cheaper to do it yourself.
How so? Only if it costs you more than $1600 in which case you have to pay the difference.

In vic the one about that was current 6 months ago, it was cheaper to buy batts and do it myself. It must have changed. My bad

We did have the hot water grant down here recently.
You could get a heatpump HWS for $23 plus a plumber, no out of pocket, just $23

It was all heat pumps, all you had to do was go into a plumbing place and pick your unit ($2000+) give them your plumbers phone number and fill out some forms and pay your $20 odd dollars.
Ring up your plumbing supplies( I do not know if it was only in regional vic or not), they will know about it.
